In this talk, Diana will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the field of special projects cinematics ⁠— which combines traditional filmmaking and virtual production to blur the boundaries between cinematics and games. The talk will analyze a number of examples created using Unreal Engine including The Matrix Awakens and other content for games and technology demonstrations to show what distinguishes them from a traditional cinematic.

Attendees will learn what new job opportunities artists can expect in the field and where special projects are headed for the future. The talk will also offer thoughts on different roles within Epic, including what jobs entail, the challenges, and which skills/attributes are most important for success.
