DescriptionThis course covers fundamental topics on the nature of contact modeling and simulation for computer graphics. We provide mathematical details about modeling contact in rigid and soft body animations, as well as numerical methods for solving the dynamical systems. We also cover approaches for contact generation using discrete collision detection.
Prerequisites Early stage researchers, graduate students, and industry professionals interested in physics-based animation.
Intended Audience Knowledge of linear algebra and numerical optimization, as well as high school physics.
