DescriptionWe jointly reconstruct the shape and appearance of translucent objects from images by using physically based differentiable rendering with subsurface scattering modeled by a BSSRDF. We also propose an objective function to allow unbiased Monte Carlo gradient estimation at low sample counts using stochastic gradient descent.
