DescriptionComplex rendering algorithms, like bidirectional ones, are very powerful and can render some of the most difficult scenes. However, on common simpler scenes, they can waste computational time on unnecessary sampling techniques. Our method starts rendering with unidirectional path tracing and automatically enables bidirectional sampling if beneficial.
