DescriptionWe propose a novel, optimization-based framework to automatically determine quantization schemes for physics-based simulations. According to the linearized uncertainty propagation objective function, the framework allows deriving analytical quantization solutions with the Lagrange multiplier method. Experiments show that our method can achieve up to 2.5× memory compression without noticeable artifacts.
