DescriptionWe propose an approach to simulating brittle fracture by way of coupling the rigid body representation and continuum damage mechanics. This approach is combined with a novel technique to approximate cracks as a non-manifold mid-surface, enabling accurate and robust modeling of fragment volumes to complement fast-and-rigid shatter effects.
