DescriptionWe present a technique to reduce the dynamic range of an HDRI lighting environment in an efficient, energy-preserving manner by spreading the light of concentrated sources. We can then display a reasonable approximation of the illumination of the HDRI map in a virtual production LED stage with limited dynamic range.
