DescriptionAn organization’s impact is marked by the memory and artifacts it leaves behind. In 2023, ACM SIGGRAPH will celebrate its 50th conference and in an effort to document the amazing achievements of its community members, two archiving efforts have been initiated - a digital, online archive and a physical archive of publications and artifacts. These projects are co-directed by Bonnie Mitchell and Jan Searleman and involve a large community of SIGGRAPH Pioneers, community members, students, and other volunteers. This talk will showcase the ACM SIGGRAPH History online archive (https://history.SIGGRAPH.com) and the data entered so far as well as discuss the state of the physical archives. It will also illustrate the SIGGRAPH's relationship to other archives and how it is part of an international interconnected network of online new media archives.
