John Desnoyers-Stewart
John Desnoyers-Stewart is an interdisciplinary artist-researcher and PhD candidate at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He creates immersive installations to encourage new perspectives on virtual reality and to better understand its true potential. His art practice explores new possibilities in immersive technology through an intuitive and iterative approach that incorporates a variety of research methods to better understand immersants’ experiences. Through his multi-user mixed reality installations he hopes to encourage social connection and collaborative creativity, explore positive social applications of virtual reality and better understand the experience of embodying abstract bodies.
