Biography
AJ Christensen is a senior visualization designer with NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio and SSAI where he combines data science, computer graphics, and science communication skills to produce and share scientific imagery for documentaries, classrooms, social media, and presentations to national decision-makers. His previous work with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications’ Advanced Visualization Lab can be seen in more than a dozen science documentary films, data-driven creative projects, and an 8-week 3D visualization course on Coursera. AJ also worked for Hollywood visual effects company Double Negative on the Oscar-winning scientifically-motivated black hole effects in “Interstellar”. He is currently working on his thesis comparing how films and games can be used in informal science education.
