Biography
Mark Hessler is the Lead Engineer for the Software Tools team supporting the Characters and Crowds departments. He joined Pixar in 2009 after 8 years building Machine Vision systems for manufacturing. His focus is on high-performance character deformation and grooming technologies, having developed a novel spline-based animation system he presented at SIGGRAPH 2016 and more recently helped build the realtime Pele hair system in Pixar's Presto software. Mark holds a BSE in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
