Todd Scopio is a Principal Software Engineer and Software Architecture Lead at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He holds a degree in Computational Mathematics from Penn State University. After an early career in the defense industry, he came to Disney Animation in 1996 to work on the Technical Academy Award-winning CAPS system. His endeavors have included architecting Disney Animation’s primary lighting and material authoring toolset, its asset and scene navigation system, and its rendering pipeline. Though leading the Environments and EFX tool team, he was charged with overseeing the studio’s Technology transition to USD.
