Alex DeGaris is an early career digital artist, currently studying their PhD at the University of South Australia with a focus on creative collaboration and virtual environments. DeGaris runs two digital arts courses at UniSA, teaching virtual and augmented reality development for the creative arts, motion capture and creative coding. In 2021 DeGaris was the primary developer and creative collaborator on Sarah Neville’s Glasshouse virtual reality dance project and digital lead for Post-dining’s augmented reality work. DeGaris has exhibited nationally and is currently working towards a large-scale interactive installation at the MOD Arts/Science Museum scheduled for 2022.
