Matt McClurg
Biography
Matt McClurg is a well-seasoned Previsualization Supervisor with extensive experience in creatively realizing film and television projects. With an exceptional ability to collaborate with top filmmakers while contributing substantially to the visuals and dynamics of storytelling, Matt has risen quickly during his 10-year career in the industry. Starting as an artist at The Third Floor, Matt moved to 20th Century Fox, where he soon became a previs supervisor working on films such as “Fantastic Four” and “Hitman: 47.” In 2004 he joined VFX company Pixomondo to build and run the previs department there until 2019 when he joined Digital Domain.
Since joining Digital Domain, he has already contributed to previs on multiple feature film and television projects. Most recently, Matt worked as the previs supervisor on Sony's record-breaking film, "Spider-Man: No Way Home." He's also worked on other projects such as Sony’s “Morbius” and 20th Century Studios “Free Guy.” In his role as previs sup, Matt has also worked directly with Steven Speilberg on the opening shot for the upcoming film “West Side Story,” as well as with Seth MacFarlane on the episodic “The Orville.”
Along with Steven Spielberg and Seth MacFarlane, Matt has worked with a number of directors and filmmakers, including Peter Segal, Shawn Levy, Patty Jenkins, Roland Emmerich, Robert Stromberg and Joss Whedon. His additional credits include major feature film and television series such as “Star Trek: Discovery,” “Dark Tower,” “Venom,” “Ghost in The Shell,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “Wonder Woman” and “Maleficent.” Matt is currently working as the previs sup on Marvel’s Spiderman: No Way Home.
With a keen creative eye and demonstrated ability to help filmmakers realize their project’s distinct look, Matt is one of several creative visionaries in the global Digital Domain family.
