Matt Baer
Biography
Matt Baer is a VFX Supervisor at DreamWorks Animation. In his current role, Matt helped launch the DreamWorks short film program, leading teams in the adoption of new technology on “Bilby” and “To: Gerard”. He earned his first VFX Supervisor credit on “Trolls World Tour” and most recently served as VFX Supervisor “The Bad Guys”.
Since joining PDI/DreamWorks in 1999 to work on Shrek, Matt has worked as an fx artist and lead on additional films that include “A.I. Artificial Intelligence”, “Shrek 2” and “Madagascar” – contributing to developments in fx, crowds and character effects. He was promoted to Head of Effects on “Shrek 3” and continued his role on “How to Train Your Dragon” and “The Croods”.
Prior to joining PDI/DreamWorks Animation, Baer worked at Tippett Studios, Santa Barbara Studios, Electronic Arts and Alias/Wavefront in Santa Barbara.
