Eric Joris
Eric Joris (1955), founder of CREW, is a transdisciplinary artist. Embodiment, immersion, spatialisation are key elements in his work. Previously an industrial designer, he switched in the nineties to making comics.

With the arrival in 1995 of the drawing tablet, internet and computer games Joris took his drawings into new media, staging them in theatres, aiming towards a live, prosthetic and embodied new medium.

CREW is a Brussels based organisation that investigates immersive technologies in a performative manner. CREW has been pioneering the use of VR since the early 2000’s and created the first theatre piece with integrated VR technology.
