Biography
Jeffrey Weekley is the Information Technology Services (ITS) Manager for Research IT Support and Engagement at UC Santa Cruz. In that role, he works directly with faculty to design, implement and manage campus research cyberinfrastructure and associated communities of practice around high performance computing (HPC), high-performance networking (sDMZ) and other specialized IT solutions. Previously, Mr. Weekley was the Director of Research Computing and Cyberinfrastructure at UC Merced and founding research faculty of the Modeling, Virtual Environments and Simulations (MOVES) Institute at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He currently chairs the annual CENIC Workshop (held in March) and his collaboration with CalIT2 on various projects such as PRP, CHASE-CI and CineGrid stretch back over 15 years. Mr. Weekley is currently a PhD student at UCSC’s Baskin School of Engineering in the Computational Media Department.
