Biography
Brass Art is the collaborative practice of artists Chara Lewis, Kristin Mojsiewicz and Anneké Pettican, based in Manchester, Glasgow and Huddersfield, U.K. The trio use light-based scanning technologies to capture data, re-animate objects, create digital doubles and immersive shadow-plays. They explore notions of time, uncanny doubling, embodiment, touch and liminality, in practices encompassing sculpture, installation, drawing, sound and digital technologies. The importance of touch and gesture have been at the forefront of Brass Art’s research thinking and creative practice; most recently they have worked with software designers to create AR artworks to be activated by the user through finger-tip touch.
