He is an assistant professor in computer science at the University of Southern California. He graduated with a PhD in Robotics from the CMU Robotics Institute and a MS from MIT. Before graduate studies, he worked at video game company Square Enix on procedural content generation. He draw upon expertise in AI, HRI and stochastic optimization to develop robots that interact robustly with people. His research has been recognized in the form of best paper awards and nominations from the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction, IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems and the International Symposium on Robotics.
